All lenses are not the same.
We use lenses from Essilor and Seiko for lightness, clarity and quality.
They both produce lenses which resist scratching and blurring and keep the quality of their coatings. Many cheaper lenses shed their coatings after a few months wear, or are thick and heavy even in the more expensive 'thin' format. Cheaper varifocals often use old technology given a distorted wobble to everything, so if you've tried lenses before and had problems, don't give up, try the best before you decide varifocals or anti-reflection coatings aren't for you.

Lens Designs

Single vision
A lens which will correct either Distance or Near Vision.

Bifocal
A lens which will correct both Distance and Near vision in one lens with a visible line dividing the prescriptions.

Varifocal
A lens which corrects Distance,Intermediate and Near Vision in one lens without any visiable line giving improved cosmetic appearance.
Their is a wide range of designs of varifocals to suit every lifestlye and budget

Lens Materials

Polycarbonate
This lens is made of a stronger material (virtually unbreakable)which isused for sports or rimless frames.

High Index
This lens is made of a thinner and lighter material often used for higher precriptions.

Transitions
This lens material will darken when in contact with the sunlight,and is avaiable in brown or grey

Polarising
This lens material will stop glare and reflection. It orovides more comfortable clear vision in the sun.

Lens Coatings

Scratch resistance coating
This clear lens coating is applied to the lens to protect it from scratching.

Anti-reflection coating
This clear lens coating will stop glare and reflection's against car headlights and computer screens. It will provide the wearer with clearer and more comfortable vision.
