Ortho-K

ChromaGen Lenses
A system where measurements are taken using a Corneal Topographer.
A contact lens is made especially for the patient. The lens is
worn overnight when sleeping, and removed in the morning upon
waking. The lens is stored in cleaning fluid until the following
night.
When the lens is in the eye it flattens the cornea (front surface
of the
eye) reducing the patient's prescription.
This type of system costs about the same as wearing a high quality
Daily contact lens.

Free Hearing
Tests
A hearing aid audiologist will spend time
talking to you. asking questions about your lifestyle, work, past
experiences and future plans. Assessing how you manage in a conversation
helps determine whether you have some loss of hearing, possible
causes and whether hearing aids would be appropriate. It is also
important to understand how hearing affects you - socially, at
work and when alone.
Pure Tone Audiology
A series of sounds at differing pitches and volumes is played
through headphones to find out the quitest sounds you can hear.
The information is entered into an audiogram as a clear visual
record of your hearing.
The audiogram can be interpreted to identify the degree of hearing
loss, possible causes and whether you need to arrange to see your
GP to arrange for a hospital investigation.

Corneal Topography
This piece of equipment produces a map that
contours the front surface of the eye. It provides information
about which type of contact lens would be suitable, and what fit
would be needed. Ortho K lenses can be also fitted using the Topographer,
and specialist contact lenses that will fit the eye better than
off the peg lenses.
