We lead the way with eyecare technology

Optomap
The Optomap Retinal Examination has an ultra wide field, which means that more of the retina can be seen at one time. Nothing touches your eye at any time during the process and as no drops are needed, you can resume normal activities immediately. The Optomap gives a permanent digital record of the condition of your retina. We can then email this to your doctor if necessary.
Topographer
The Topographer is used with our most advanced contact lens decisions. The cornea (the clear tissue on which your contact lens sits) may look smooth and regular, but in fact both its shape and texture are irregular. Just as no two fingerprints are the same, neither are two eyes. The Topographer gives a map that digitally describes your cornea.
Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)
This is a highly advanced screening for glaucoma, diabetes, age related macular degeneration, vitreous detachments and more. Using a state-of-the-art 3D Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) camera, our optometrist will take both a digital photograph and a three dimensional cross sectional scan of the back of your eye in one sitting. This image is then stored on our computers, giving us invaluable ongoing records of the health and condition of your eyes.
Colorimeter
The Intuitive Colorimeter Instrument is used to help dyslexia. When looking at a printed page, a dyslexic can find patterns in the print which move, or the words appear to lift off the page. Looking at a random set of words the colorimeter allows different colour lights to be shone on the page and to see if this effect disappears. The colours can be mixed of hundreds of varying hues and density to get the most accurate result which can then be made up with a pair of tinted glasses. We can also supply coloured overlays which lay on a page of white print. Contact us for more details.
Nova Vision VRT
Nova vision therapy™ (VRT) is a clinically proven therapy for vision loss resulting from a stroke, brain injury, or brain tumour. Juul and Payne have been successfully involved in VRT since 2007 helping to treat vision deficits which were once considered untreatable. A computer programme is designed for the patient to use at home using the information we obtain from the comprehensive tests performed here. For further information contact Claire at Juul & Payne and please visit www.novavision.com
Auto Refractor
Simple and quick to use, it can predict the finished spectacle prescription, check for cataracts, and measure the shape of the cornea ready for contact lens fitting. Because it's painless and has a pretty picture, even small children love trying it. As well as many other useful pieces of equipment to test every aspect of your vision and how it interacts with your brain.
