We have always had some of the most advanced and sophisticated eye examination equipment available anywhere. We have now introduced a similar high level of technology to assist the process of dispensing your bespoke spectacles.
Our Practice Manager Chris’ Christmas came early this year when we got the new Visi Office X computerised dispensing equipment. Jan says it look like the monolith from 2001 but it’s much more interactive. It personalises your dispensing experience, calculating the shape and power range of Essilor’s most sophisticated lenses using 11 measurements from not just your pupillary distance, but your head and neck angle (we all have subtle variances) and how much you move your eyes or head when you read. This ensures maximum comfort and efficiency for your eyes. The lenses are also personalised to fit the frame you’ve chosen so they’re as thin and light as possible.

The Visi Office X is a non invasive, state of the art device which makes up to 11 different measurements for each eye (whereas a traditional spectacle lens would usually only consider 2 measurements). As an Essilor Bespoke practice we are one of a select few in the UK that can utilise this incredible technology.

We look at not only your eye's anatomy, and your prescription, but we consider the way you wear your frame, your posture and also how you use your eyes when you read. All of these considerations enable us to custom design a lens that works best for you.

This opens up your choice of frames, meaning you can choose something really stylish that suits your personality. Thanks to the way the device works, with facial recognition and 3 HD cameras, we can measure you without physical contact. However, our dispenser will be there to guide you through the process so you certainly won't be losing the human approach.
