Why Regular Eye Exams Matter

Juul & Payne Opticians interior

We're looking forward to welcoming all our patients back for eye exams following the lifting of the last of COVID-19 restrictions and the completion of our beautiful new practice refit! We now have a second eye examination room (and space for a third!) and you are now able to book an eye exam online with either Jay or Jan at a time that suits you. The refit has also allowed us to improve access for disabled, wheelchair and baby buggy users. An eye examination is about much more than just correcting your vision. Regular eye examinations are vital to safeguard your sight and monitor the health of your eyes. They can also help detect other health conditions so that they can be addressed early. If you have missed out on your regular eye examination, and we haven’t seen you for a while, we are here to help. You can book an eye examination online by clicking here. Alternatively you can call to book an appointment on 0117 9735929 or email juulpayne.reception@gmail.com.

What makes Juul & Payne eye exams different?

We pride ourselves on combining the latest technology and our decades of knowledge and experience to give you the best eyecare possible. We provide a comprehensive eye examination to all of our patients as part of our standard eye test. This comprehensive eye care examination involves a total examination of the front of your eye using our WAM 800 and retinal imaging of the back of the eye using our amazing Optomap. This unique British made and designed camera gets the best view of your eye without needing dilating eyedrops. Everyone hates those! We capture these images and compare how they change over time. This image capture enables us to assess the risks of developing common eye diseases, such as cataracts and glaucoma, in a painless and non-invasive way. This capability has enabled us to take corrective action early and prevent the loss of many of our patient's sight.

Monthy Eyecare Plans

We offer monthly eyecare plans for our patients whether they prefer glasses, contact lenses or both. For no upfront payment, and a small monthly fee paid by direct debit, these schemes provide an excellent way of looking after your eyes continuously and receiving great value for money. They provide a number of different benefits including:

  • Unlimited eyecare with access to the latest eye examination technology

  • 10% discount on all spectacles; sunglasses and accessories

More information on our monthly eyecare schemes is available by clicking here.

Eyewear Payment Plan

If your eye examination shows that you would benefit from new eyewear we can offer you the ability to spread the cost of eyewear (glasses / sunglasses) over 3 monthly payments collected by direct debit.
